The management of the application of anti-pollution flashover coatings should be strengthened to ensure that the application units and personnel have the corresponding work qualifications. In the application, the supervision and management of each link of construction, acceptance, and spot inspection should be strengthened. The application and acceptance of the anti-pollution flashover coating should be completed before the infrastructure project is put into production.
The porcelain (glass) insulators of newly built and expanded overhead transmission lines should be configured for external insulation according to the latest version of the pollution area distribution map. The porcelain (glass) insulators in the medium and heavy pollution areas should be sprayed with RTV anti-pollution flashover paint on the surface.
RTV coatings can become complete anti-pollution flashover products only after on-site construction. So far, the construction of RTV is still easy to become a weak link of the product, and even some manufacturers with better product quality have made mistakes in the construction in recent years. If conditions permit, priority should be given to the production method of coating RTV on the insulator before the equipment leaves the factory or the production method similar to that of coating RTV in a factory environment.
An effective way to ensure the thickness of RTV coating on-site construction: the thickness of the coating can be guaranteed by different construction requirements. Generally, the average thickness of one spray is about 0.2mm. The thickness of the three sprays can be guaranteed to be about 0.5mm. Therefore, it can be required: spray more than two times; sampling thickness measurement with the upper surface of the insulator as the testing point, so as to ensure the beautiful color and the thickness of the film.
The construction process of layered spraying of paint with large color difference can be used to ensure the thickness of the RTV coating, prevent the occurrence of missing coating, improve the construction quality, and ensure that the service life of the coating is not affected by the thickness of the coating.
Therefore, in the process of infrastructure and equipment maintenance with loose time, it is recommended to use two-color cross spraying. White and red-brown paint can be used for cross spraying. It is required to spray more than two times. After each spraying, it must be fully cured (the curing time is based on this type of coating. The curing time in the test report shall prevail) to spray the second color of paint. The thickness of the paint is measured after each spraying. 3 to 5 samples of typical equipment can be used for measurement.
In the short-term equipment maintenance and spraying, single-color spraying can be used, but it must be sprayed multiple times, and each spraying must be at least surface dry. And do not spray too thick at one time (a spray too thick will cause the coating to accumulate, flow, and the paint surface is rough, etc.). After spraying, the thickness of all spraying equipment shall be inspected randomly.
