The contamination flashover discharge process of insulators can be roughly divided into four stages: contamination deposition, contamination wetting, formation of drying zone, local arc generation, and development to creeping flashover. In these four stages, abnormal meteorological conditions, biological contamination, elevated altitude, ice, and snow-covered insulator surface, insulator material structure and creepage distance, lightning, and operating overvoltage are the main reasons for the formation of pollution flashover.

1. Use RTV or RTV long-term anti-pollution flashover coating
