When it comes to anti-pollution flashover coating, first is its application in market power systems. And the power can be guaranteed because of the anti-pollution flashover coating. There are various types of anti-pollution flashover coating in the market. Here Ruisen will introduce the hydrophobicity of anti-pollution flashover coating in power to you.

Ⅰ. Application of RTV coating in power equipment

When it comes to RTV coatings, its most outstanding feature is its hydrophobic mobility. Applying certain polymer hydrophobic coatings on the outer insulating surface of power equipment can give the surface of hydrophilic electroceramics water-repellent properties. However, the dust accumulated on this surface in the natural environment is not hydrophobic. Under severe climatic conditions, a continuous water film will still appear along the surface of wet and dirty insulators, and flashover will occur. When the RTV coating is applied, due to its hydrophobic migration, the surface of the dirt layer is also hydrophobic. There are only discontinuous small water droplets on the surface of the dirty layer. Instead of being infiltrated or connected, it will greatly improve the anti-pollution flashover performance of the power equipment.

Ⅱ. The hydrophobicity of RTV coating

The performance of RTV is determined by its molecular structure. The RTV coating contains a large number of small molecule hydrophobic groups and free organosilicon oligomers and small molecule groups. These oligomers and small molecular groups are hydrophobic, so the water presents isolated water droplets on the surface of the RTV, and it is hard to form a continuous water film. When the surface of the RTV is naturally contaminated, controlled by the density gradient, the free hydrophobic groups diffuse to the dirty layer, and the phenomenon of hydrophobic migration occurs, making the surface of the dirty layer also hydrophobic.

When the dirt layer is exposed to wind and rain, it will fall off naturally, and the hydrophobic groups that migrated into the dirt layer will be lost, but migration will also occur. Repeatedly, the surface of the dirty layer always maintains good hydrophobicity. When the RTV coating is immersed or washed by rain, the hydrophobic groups on its surface are gradually lost, and the hydrophobicity of the coating is weakened or even temporarily disappeared.

After being dried naturally and placed for some time, the hydrophobicity of the surface of the RTV gradually recovered due to the diffusion of the hydrophobic groups inside the RTV. Compared with the number of hydrophobic groups inside the RTV, the number of naturally lost hydrophobic groups is extremely small, so the valid period of the RTV is very long. Electrical equipment using RTV paint is free of cleaning. Otherwise, it will affect the valid period of RTV paint. In addition to excellent hydrophobic migration properties, one-component RTV anti-pollution flashover coatings also have the advantages of long storage time, convenient construction and use, suitable curing time, strong adhesion, and long validity period.
