Design the position of lines and substations reasonably. The cables or substations should be designed far away from pollution source or upwind of pollution source to reduce the pollution of insulators. Increase the creepage distance of insulators in lines and substations in the heavily polluted areas to improve the anti-fouling ability of anti-pollution flashover coating. Make sure the salt density measurement, contaminated area demarcation, and determination of the cleaning cycle will be handled carefully and appropriately. Ⅰ. Select an appropriate cleaning method for anti-pollution flashover coating


Adopt various measures to clean insulators based on the cleaning cycle of the anti-pollution flashover coating. The main cleaning methods are manual cleaning, washing, blowing, mechanical brush, etc. RTV coating on insulation components is mainly used for electrical porcelain equipment in substations, transmission lines, or glass insulators. It is the same as synthetic insulators. The anti-fouling property of RTV coating is excellent due to the hydrophobicity of silicone rubber materials.


Ⅱ. How to improve antifouling ability of anti-pollution flashover coating


The roles of synthetic insulators and RTV coatings are complementary. With the original internal and external insulation and mechanical properties of the equipment, the thin ceramic equipment surface can greatly improve the anti-pollution flashover of the equipment. Currently, the use of synthetic insulators is the preferred method to prevent pollution flashes and snow flashes. The umbrella tray made of silicone rubber has good hydrophobic migration performance and strong anti-pollution flashover ability. The critical flashover salt density of synthetic insulators is 0.6mg/cm, which is much higher than the pollution flashover resistance of ordinary porcelain insulators.


Install synthetic insulator umbrella skirts in substation equipment. This method is to install synthetic insulator umbrella skirts on equipment with porcelain insulating parts, to improve the hydrophobic migration performance, increase the insulation level, and prevent the occurrence of pollution flashover. Pollution flashover insulators are mainly porcelain insulators. The synthetic insulator and RTV coating have withstood rigorous testing under severe weather conditions. Umbrella skirts and RTV coatings are easy to construct and have a long service life. The performance of umbrella skirt and RTV coating is complementary, can eliminate uneven voltage distribution, and achieve an obvious anti-fouling effect.
